Media Coverage

Wow, just…. Wow. I knew that my paper was going to make some buzz in the community of scientists studying atmospheric methane, but I didn’t expect to be covered and interviewed in so many major press outlets. This whole thing feels like an out-of-body experience to myself as a young scientist who just finished grad school and is still at the beginning my career.

My contact in the media communications dept. at UofR compiled a list of the (largely US based) articles she had come across: The New York Times, The Washington Post, CNN, Discover Magazine, Bloomberg, National Geographic, The Guardian (US Edition), The Verge, USA Today, BBC Science Focus Magazine, Science News, The Hill, Los Angeles Times, InsideClimate News, The Weather Channel, Science magazine, The Independent (UK), The Telegraph (UK), Mother Jones, Democrat and Chronicle,

Also, I’m not sure if this is because my paper has garnered a lot of attention or this is a new initiative that Nature is pursuing, but they’ve given me a link to the read only version of the article that I’m allowed to distribute without limitations including my own personal website!

Read the paper here!

This has been an exhausting week and I am finally going to turn my focus back to some of the firn modeling for CO stable isotopes at Summit and 14CO at Law Dome, Antarctica that I am doing with my short postdoc. Also applying for more jobs and permanent positions in the future!

Introduction

Given that I have a high profile paper coming out in nature soon, I figured it would be a good idea to make a professional page where I can post about the goings on in my life and point people towards the work that I’ve done throughout my PhD.

There isn’t much here right now, but hopefully as time grows I will add more to this site as time goes on, both about my professional endeavors as well as the things important to me in life (Bicycles, My dog Eva and videogames).

The Nature paper will be available here once the embargo lifts (11:00am on Feb 19th 2020). After that date If you would like to read the paper but do not have access to the nature paywall please contact me via email and I can provide you with a manuscript.
